Zog the Jackal is a character in Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer. He is an ogre warlord and mage who lives in a fortress in Ravage Roaming.
Background[]
Zog the Jackal was a brutal ogre chieftain, but also quite cunning. He created fake credit documents to embezzle money from the merchants of Alvar, and also forged an alliance with the Dread Pirate Stanley. His tribe harassed and killed travelers trying to reach Alvar.
The dragon hunter Charles Quixote once sold Zog a dragon egg, but the ogre never paid for it. When Sir Charles sent some of his men to collect the money, the couriers were killed. Charles Quixote asked the Hero of Jadame to recover the egg. However, the dragon king Deftclaw Redreaver, the egg's father, also wanted it back, as it contained the unhatched prince that would one day take his place.

Zog can be found in the barbarian fortress. The hero must enter the fortress to recover the Dragon Leader's Egg. The item can either be given to Charles Quixote to complete the Recover the Dragon Egg quest, or to Deftclaw Redreaver to complete the Find the Dragon Egg quest.
