Orc Warmongers relish taking the brunt of an enemy onslaught. These masters of close combat believe that their swords are far more effective than the maces of their comrades, and they are so brave that they will not think twice about throwing themselves at the enemy blades in order to protect their fellow orcs from attack.^OffBck

The warmonger is the third-level upgraded creature of the Stronghold town in Tribes of the East. Its basic version is warrior.

Compared to the mauler, it has lower attack and lacks the Assault ability, meaning it will do less damage in a charge, but Taunt will allow it to redirect enemy damage, protecting weaker members of the army, and Fierce Retaliation will make the enemy pay for every strike. Placing it near friendly ranged creatures and casters might be the best use for it. The warmonger also has considerably higher health and defense than the mauler and warrior, and gains more from Blood Rage than the others as well, making them surprisingly hard to kill as long as they have sufficient Blood Rage.

Abilities

• Enraged - This creature's Attack increases during combat when any stack of friendly units dies (except resurrected creatures or creatures summoned on battlefield by magic). The increase is proportional to the killed stack relative power in the army.
• Raging Blood - This creature has a mix of demon and human blood that makes it subject to "Blood Rage" temporarily improving it's battle characteristics for aggressive behavior in combat.
• Fierce Retaliation - The creature inflicts twice its normal damage in retaliation.
• Taunt - This creature has a chance of distracting the enemy's melee attack, directed initially against another friendly stack in its neighborhood, to itself.
