"Why wait for the Elemental Lords to come to him? That's what Tarnum must have been thinking when he decided to take the battle to the Elemental Planes. Even though he looked like a Wizard, he still had the heart of a Barbarian."

Walking on Clouds is the second scenario in Masters of the Elements.

Tarnum must defeat the armies of the Lord of Air. Tarnum and all Heroes will be limited to level twelve. Tarnum and the two best Captains will transfer to the next scenario with all of their skills, spells and experience. The Orb of Firmament will transfer to the rest of the scenarios as well.OffBck

With knowledge gained from the Conflux library, Tarnum and his wizard advisors have found the way to the Elemental Plane of Air. They know they might not find a way back, but they still travel, hoping that their actions might save the world from the Elemental Lords.

Barsolar decides to leave the camp and explore on his own, hoping to study the Elemental Planes in more detail. As the man was getting on his nerves, Tarnum is glad to see him go. Barsolar returns later, having located a neutral Tower and the Gateway to the Elemental Plane.

In an effort to befriend the wizards he has to work with, Tarnum decides to strip to the waist, stand in a snow bank, and challenge them to a wrestling match. None of them take him up on the offer.

Once they reach the Elemental Plane, Tarnum learns that the sprites are the Air Lord's slaves - he keeps the children as prisoners while the adults fight in his armies or work in his mines. Having grown up as a slave himself, Tarnum knows what they are going through, and immediately frees them. He also learns that the Air Lord has left the plane, and no one knows where he is.

Walkthrough[]

Tarnum starts out with his two strongest heroes from the previous scenario, and a Tower. His foe is the planeswalker Fiur, who has a Conflux in the underground. There's a neutral Tower east of Tarnum's Tower.

The two-way monolith leading to the Conflux lies to the north, but is defended, so Tarnum should build up quickly before taking on his foes.

Strategy[]

To the north of his Tower, Tarnum can find the Orb of the Firmament and the Tome of Air Magic. Both artifacts will carry over to later scenarios. The latter artifact is heavily guarded by air and storm elementals.
