Valley of the Dragon Lords is the third scenario of the Elixir of Life campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Shadow of Death.

Walkthrough[]

This valley is land of the Dragon Lords. They must be defeated and the Ring of Life located to win the scenario. However, if Gelu is defeated in combat, the scenario is lost. Gelu is limited to level 20 but will carry his experience, skills and spells on to the next scenario.OffBck

The next artifact, the Ring of Life, is held in the Valley of the Dragon Lords. It is said a Dragon Lord, known to be a powerful meber of the elven nobility, has betrayed AvLee and plans on giving the Ring of Life to the necromancers. Gelu will have to find the ring before this Dragon Lord. Due to standing in the Dragon Valley, Gelu has the dragon cliffs building built in his town, while his enemies have the upgraded building.

To start, Gelu can access the green keymaster's tent west of his starting town, but are guarded by unicorns. Once done, Gelu can go to southwest, where a neutral Rampart town lies. Northeast of the town is a red keymaster tent, while north of the town is another Rampart town. Close to it is a garrison with Rampart troops: 65 grand elves, 50 silver pegasi, 30 dendroid soldiers and 10 war unicorns. Beyond it is a light-blue keymaster tent. Meanwhile, Lord Falorel commends Gelu for his success, since the Elixir of Life will heal many of AvLee's illnesses. Once having the keys, Gelu has to go south, to a land of "a fire lake". If Gelu is already level 10, he can come to the seer southeast of the central city to obtain 20 sharpshooters.

Continuing towards south, Gelu has to unlock either the red (if coming from east) or the lightblue (if coming from west) border guard. Once Gelu is in the area, he has to unlock the green border guard and a quest guard (asking for Gelu's presence) and obtain the ring.

The scenario can be won in a few turns; Gelu has to visit the green and red keymaster tents, then hurry through the eastern route to the south, unlock the border guards and take the ring. However, it is advisable to have Gelu level-up to the level cap, 20, since the next scenario will be tough to finish without experience. There are three enemy towns, so Gelu has to speed up and defeat all three. It is noted, however, they'll go towards the central town.
