Map objects[]

Hi. I wanted to thank you for the work you do uploading images of H4 and H5 map objects. Just a quick question: when you add categories to the adventure map objects, do you also check whether they appear in H6 and H7?

Also, you shouldn't just delete the "Heroes II" header without first checking what info is written below it. Not all map objects have the same effect in all games. We should be listing the effect in every game that it appears (the reason we don't, is because a lot of them were created by a user that had only played H2, and we haven't taken the time to clean them up yet).Narve (talk) 17:09, February 10, 2017 (UTC)

  • Hello! Thank you for your criticism, it is important for me. I understand you. I have not worked with H6 and H7, but hoping someone then add the appropriate image and categories. Regarding headings i also clearly.

I am sorry for my english, if inconvenient to read.

Nicko Budkov (talk) 02:54, February 11, 2017 (UTC)

Yes. But it is an extensive thing to do. Same goes for the voice actors. Energy X 11:09, August 26, 2017 (UTC)

  • OK. I thought - delete stubs of developers from the articles or not.. Now it is clear that no.

Nicko Budkov (talk) 11:13, August 26, 2017 (UTC)

Well that definitively needs to be expanded. As said, it's a tough, difficult task. Energy X 11:51, August 26, 2017 (UTC)

Well, since you did link the banner in here, can we then get your banner, then? Energy X 17:22, August 29, 2017 (UTC)

  • Ок, I have no objection Nicko Budkov (talk) 04:04, August 30, 2017 (UTC)
    • Or did you mean this banner?
Nicko Budkov (talk) 14:11, September 2, 2017 (UTC)

Actually, this one. Energy X 15:18, September 2, 2017 (UTC)

  • Excellent! Now the banner is more beautiful, in my opinion. Nicko Budkov (talk) 02:10, September 3, 2017 (UTC)

I take two screenshots (one of the left, the other of the right half of the map), then merge it. That's basically it. Energy X 13:31, June 30, 2018 (UTC)

  • But how do you make screenshots if the scenario is not yet passed? Nicko Budkov (talk) 14:19, June 30, 2018 (UTC)
Use the "nwcwhatisthematrix" cheat code (press TAB, then enter the code, then press ENTER) to reveal the map, then use the Print Screen button. Note: if you're using Heroes III without any expansions, use the "nwcgeneraldirection" cheat code instead.Narve (talk) 16:58, June 30, 2018 (UTC)
  • Thank you very much! Nicko Budkov (talk) 17:45, June 30, 2018 (UTC)

It doesn't look like these pages have much content. In fact, what can be done is to turn them into redirects to their corresponding town pages. So searching for "Deity of Fire" will link to the Inferno (H3) page, to the table where that building is shown. Energy X 19:18, October 17, 2018 (UTC)

  • OK. I agree with you. Then other similar articles we will clean and redirect to the appropriate faction?
Nicko Budkov (talk) 15:07, October 18, 2018 (UTC)

Could you upload the Heroes IV icons without the yellow background, just like you did for Necropolis faction? Energy X 11:33, December 30, 2018 (UTC)

  • Greetings! Over time, I will replace all the Heroes IV unit icons. Nicko Budkov (talk) 12:39, December 30, 2018 (UTC)

This may have been the first (somewhat) rational time that an interwiki link has been removed. I thought the Dragon Rage game was based in Enroth, and it makes it relevant to the series. Energy X 18:43, January 23, 2019 (UTC)

Allow me to introduce myself[]

Hey Nicko Budkov! I'm Emptylord, and I'm the Fandom Wiki Manager for Might and Magic Wiki. I introduced myself on your Boards, but just wanted to drop you a message personally since you're one of the more active editors around here. Basically, if you have any questions relating to the wiki, I hope to be your first point of contact.Emptylord (talk) 12:57, May 30, 2019 (UTC)

Remind me why are you doing this? Energy X 13:46, September 21, 2019 (UTC)

  • I change the icons of the heroes H4 to higher ones; therefore, they look bad when paired in infobox. Is not it so?

Nicko Budkov (talk) 15:15, September 21, 2019 (UTC)

Well that's why you have the tabber to separate them into two different tabs. Besides, remember that this is also to cover the mobile layout, too; it's be better to include both in the infobox than let the user scroll all the way down to see the other image. Energy X 21:34, September 24, 2019 (UTC)

It's not only an idea. It's a fact by now:

'XEL: What is the origin of angels and archangels? Don’t worry, we won't have a heart attack

GF: Over the course of my time at New World, on occasion, typically when taking a break, I would wander into Paul Rattner’s office. Even though MM6 was in mid production, Paul was already thinking about MM7, so I made sure to update him on what was happening with HoMM3.

When I told him about the changes to the factions, I specifically mentioned the Angels. At that point in time, Paul was essentially the lore master for the MM universe. On the topic of the Angels and Arch Angels, he proposed they be sophisticated robots created by the Ancients to hunt down and eradicate the Kreegans. I agreed, and we ran with it.

Later, after the Forge was shelved, I remember thinking to myself, “If people have a problem with the whole ‘goblins are aliens’ idea, I can only imagine what they will think if they figure out the true origins of the Angels.'

So it's basically canon.

FirePaladin11 (talk) 10:30, March 15, 2020 (UTC)

  • I know this interview very well. Maybe it should have become a canon, but still this is an unrealized idea. In games there is no mention of the characteristics of the race of angels, therefore this is ambiguous information.

Nicko Budkov (talk) 11:36, March 15, 2020 (UTC)

I could add it as a trivia then.FirePaladin11 (talk) 12:08, March 15, 2020 (UTC)
Well, it's ok.

Nicko Budkov (talk) 14:02, March 15, 2020 (UTC)

Added the Trivia to both of them. FirePaladin11 (talk) 14:46, March 15, 2020 (UTC)
Probably best to revert all and create a new page called Angel (Enroth), since that should cover lore info like this one. Energy X 20:27, March 15, 2020 (UTC)

Deleted all but creature banks. Are they merged with adventure map objects pages?

Also, I've noticed your activity, maybe you want to adopt this site? Energy X 20:27, March 15, 2020 (UTC)

Of course! It would be cool ))
Nicko Budkov (talk) 11:54, March 16, 2020 (UTC)

I have deleted the pages, but the List of creature banks. Are those pages merged?

As for the question, it's been a long, long time since someone asked me that (if they even did). Anyway, my earlier username was based on a part of a game. But I kinda grew tired of it, though, looking at it from now, it also has to do with the fact that I got blocked a lot back then, mostly for achievement boosting (making pointless edits just for the sake to get points). Anyway, I decided to change my username to something more, shall we say, intriguing. Since I am a bit interested in energetics, I decided to give the name an "X" to make it more appealing. Energy X 13:01, September 6, 2020 (UTC)

And, well, on an other matter, I could promote you to an admin status, since you do a lot of work here (at least more than I do). I believe I will return soon, since I nearly close to finishing all of my exams - permanently. Energy X 13:02, September 6, 2020 (UTC)
[admin status] — That would be good! ) It will be possible to remove various rubbish.
Also I think it's best to leave the creature bank articles for now.
Nicko Budkov (talk) 14:34, September 6, 2020 (UTC)
OK, done. But next time it would be better to leave message on my talk page so I can get the notification. Energy X 22:09, September 14, 2020 (UTC)

That bit is a code, run on JavaScript, and it refers to this feature, called RailWAM. Let me amaze you even more by showing you the list of all known Fandom JavaScript code you can import. Energy X 21:53, September 20, 2020 (UTC)

Pagemoves requiring deletion rights[]

There are a few pagemoves that Pneumaticat had attempted to perform, but was unable to due to the target page having a non-trivial history. To actually perform the pagemoves would require an admin to delete the target page first, then move the page. In order to workaround this issue, Pneumaticat had done copy-paste "moves" instead of proper pagemoves. I've reverted these due to being improper (and failing to properly preserve the page history), but am unable to do them correctly myself.

Would you be able to correctly perform these pagemoves? I created Category:Candidates for renaming and placed the pages in that category.

I'm sending this message to you, as you appear to be the only active admin on this wiki. SnorlaxMonster 13:21, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi there,

This edit was me removing spam. That user had posted these links on hundreds of Fandom wikis and they are now blocked globally. Please don't undo my edit.

Ready for FandomDesktop[]

I have made some modifications to the wiki style in preparation for the switch to FandomDesktop. Please look over the wiki in both light and dark themes and let me know if there are any glaring errors. My goal was primarily just to make the wiki readable in either theme, so feel free to adjust colors and such as you wish (this wiki has an insane number of custom colors). You can use my work as an example of how to fix any problems you find. Of course, I'm happy to answer any questions about anything that I've done.

Once it looks good enough for the general public, please click the "Mark as Ready" button on the Admin Dashboard. :) —Moviesign (talk) 01:06, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

Infobox becomes smaller in windowed mode. Might & Magic X: Legacy the infobox border bugs out in the small browser version.

DarcosRoyal (talk) 13:15, 16 September 2021 (UTC)

After some years of inactivity, I have returned. Was really busy with all sort of things, couldn't devote my time to here until now. But the time also let me gain more insights into some new things, which can be applied here.

Anyway, as a start, I have started work on Heroes IV skills, like splitting secondary skills pages. Wanted to point out that pages like these are divided into five pages - four secondary skills and a list of spells, to keep parts divided as they should be.

Also, I noticed a table on your page, what is it about? Energy X 20:13, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

Hello! The table, as I understand it, demonstrates the priority of obtaining skills for various subclasses. -- Nicko Budkov (talk) 03:47, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
So if I understood this, the first two primary skills you pick as a class have the highest rating to learn (4), while other skills then have a lesser rating. Here, initially with one skill you can learn any skill with 4 rating, but if you combine it with a different skill, you get a different class that reduces the chance of learning other skills, right? Energy X 23:15, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
But ah, it is also a bit strange why some pages also contradict the table. Combat and death magic give assassin class, and the page says that it can't learn nobility, while your table mentions that it can learn. May I ask from where did you get the data for the table? Energy X 23:22, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
I did not add this table and am not sure of its validity. On this issue, it is better to contact Fistallex7 (user). -- Nicko Budkov (talk) 00:49, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

Sorry, no, I don't have the accounts on those sites. Energy X 20:00, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
