Dannte is a scenario in the Contest Maps Folder of Winds of War. I played on Expert and got Order from the random pick. The start felt really slow due to low supplies of gold and resources but, with some patience, things got rolling. Made sure to start with a Mage with access to Magic Fist. Hired a Knight day one and Order Lords as I could every week. Some early "hit and run" required. Felt strange to go to war with Halflings and Dwarves but at some point I was willing to give up Dwarves to capture objectives. They are never part of the long range plans. As usual, once I could hire Genies, I was on my way (some time at the market required to get the needed gems).

The Green Portal to the north leads to a small area that contains one of the 2 Oracles. I got Adamantine Armor. Unfortunately I didn't take that route early so I chose to delay my victory to come back and finish the map. Most of the game my army was Halflings, Magi, Genies and Water Elementals (later adding Faerie Dragons). I finished M3W3D1.

Played again on Expert choosing Nature. I was started in a different city. Started with a Druid and a Knight on turn one. Poor choice, no effective hit and run options. An Archer instead of the Knight on day one would have worked better. I didn't take a mine until 1,3,1 !!! Still managed to finish 2 days earlier. Used Sprites, Elves, Water Elementals and Faire Dragons for my army. No challenge from the computer players.
