Living embodiments of the forest themselves, Treants have left the deep woods at the bidding of the most powerful druids. It is said that when the first Elves ventured into the heart of the primordial forest, they found the Treants there, waiting for them and ready to vow their undying loyalty. Do not be fooled by their awkward gait - their solid bodies can not be harmed easily, and any enemy creature fighting Treants will be entangled by their vines, roots, and creepers.OffBck

The treant is the sixth-level creature of the Sylvan town in Heroes of Might and Magic V.

The treant's damage is unimpressive, dealing even less than the unicorn, and it has very low initiative, but the Treant's defense and hit points make it a difficult creature to bring down. It is great for protecting ranged attackers and other vulnerable units from melee attackers.

The Entangling Roots ability allows the treant to render an enemy unit immobile, This works even against units that are Immune to Magic, such as black dragons, allowing the treant to hold enemies in place and allow ranged units to pick the enemy off.

Abilities[]

  • Large Creature - This creature is bigger than others and occupies four squares on the field.
  • Enraged - This creature's Attack increases during combat when any stack of friendly units dies (except resurrected creatures or creatures summoned on battlefield by magic). The increase is proportional to the killed stack relative power in the army.
  • Entangling Roots - Creature's attack entangles enemy with its roots and immobilises it. Creature can immobilise several enemies simultaneously, but the effect only lasts while the creature remains in direct contact with its victims.
