The thunderbird is one of the fourth-level creatures available in the Stronghold town in Heroes of Might and Magic IV.

Thunderbirds can summon lightning to strike enemies they have just attacked.^OffBck

Comments

This is a quick unit that can fly around the battlefield and strike the enemy where they are weakest, far more mobile than the behemoth. The extra move is also useful on the adventure map.

On the other hand, it is also far weaker and more fragile than the behemoth, and won't last nearly as long in serious combat.
