"Now we are back up to strength! A few hungry demons and the shipyard is as good as mine!"
—Agrael, after capturing the Sheogh outpost
The Ship is the fourth scenario in The Cultist campaign.
Walkthrough[]
Agrael requires a ship to get to Dragonmist Islands. The only nearby ferry is Erewel, though well-defended. It is located in far north.
Elves begin to abandon Agrael's army, so he can search for an Sheogh outpost in the underground. The outpost is protected by the Demon Lord Erasial, but Agrael can bypass him (if Agrael rushes to that outpost).
The next step would be to capture the Sylvan cities. There are three of them (plus Erewel), and none of them are very developed. Agrael can take them all so that his mission can be commenced in peace. There are three initial Rangers on the map: Dirael, Ylthin, and Wyngaal.
When he reaches the gates, they are protected by a large force of Elven troops. Agrael can take the underground route, but shadow dragons will want him to get 100 hunters to feast on them.
When he arrives with the army to them (or not, just battling them), the alternate path to Erewel is opened. Erewel is guarded by King Alaron himself. If Agrael has a large force, he will best him. The ship will be bought and will sail to Dragonmist Islands.
Events[]
Agrael sets his trip to Dragonmist Islands.
Strategy[]
Agrael should first capture the Sheogh outpost, then the Sylvan cities so that he won't be bothered by them. After that, developing towns is Agrael's choice, although the Inferno should be a better option, as demons will not leave Agrael's army. Note that elves will only desert if they are in Agrael's army - putting then in another hero's army, in the town's garrison, or even in the mine at the end of turn will prevent that. The initial rangers have quite dangerous armies, and it will be very hard for Agrael to survive if they attack him immediately after he gets the outpost.
The garrisons have a strong elven force, but if Agrael has time, he can capture both of them. If not, completing the dragon's quest is an easier route, but note that hunters will still leave Agrael's army, so there might not be more than 100 hunters when he comes back.
Lastly, King Alaron is a skilled opponent, but swarming the field by using Gating ability and cursing the elven troops will make the battle much more easy. Another option would be to sacrifice a random Demon Lord or Ranger to Alaron's army while severly crippling while allowing Agrael to finish Alaron off.
Bugs[]
Near a gate (that gate is underground) there are 16 shadow dragons, but if Agrael will battle against him there will be 33 shadow dragons.
