"The deserts turned to hills, and the hills to mountains. Tarnum marched forward with the knowledge that a new enemy waited for him, making him fight for every step. Somehow, he knew these Demons and Devils must be allied with Vorr, but why and for what objective?"
The Nameless Land is the second scenario in The Fiery Moon, the sixth part of Heroes Chronicles.
Conquer the Inferno town known as Blackdome. Do not lose Tarnum. All Heroes are limited to level twelve, and all spells, skills, artifacts and experience carry over into the next map. One of Tarnum's best Captains will carry over as well.OffBck
As he followed Vorr's trail, Tarnum realized that the demons that kept getting in his way weren't there by coincidence, but actually working for Vorr. He needed to fight his way through them to follow the Mad Ancestor.
Some of his soldiers found a wounded familiar and brought him to Tarnum, who sent for the healers. When he later talked to the familiar, he learned that he was called Skizzik, claimed to be dead, and knew that Tarnum was the Immortal Hero. He'd been working for Vorr on the Fiery Moon, where Vorr was keeping the other Ancestors imprisoned. Skizzik had accidentally left the door to their cell open, and the demons tried to kill him for it. Tarnum worked out that this was the cause of the distant cry that had woken him up and urged him to save the World Tree.
Grumba, the ogre that served as Tarnum's second-in-command, suspected that the familiar was a spy, as did the shaman Wern. Tarnum didn't agree, but wasn't willing to trust Skizzik either. The familiar did manage to make himmself slightly more popular by sniffing out some large sacks of gold that the demons had buried.
Eventually, the might of the barbarians brought down Blackdome, and the nearby demons were defeated.
Walkthrough[]
Tarnum's Stronghold is located to the south. There are two red Infernos, one to the east and one to the northeast, guarded by the heroes Marius and Axsis. There's also a neutral Stronghold to the west, guarded by neutral garrisons. The northern Inferno, Blackdome, is the goal of the scenario, and it's protected by a red garrison.
Capturing the nearby Inferno early will make the enemy less of a threat, as Tarnum will have twice the creature growth and income. Taking the neutral Stronghold will improve the odds even more. Once Tarnum has built up an army and gathered the artifacts he wants, he can head north and take out the garrison, before sieging Blackdome.
Towns[]
- Two Strongholds
- Two Infernos; Blackdome
Strategy[]
The Pendant of Negativity and the Sword of Hellfire can be found on the map, guarded by thunderbirds and arch devils, respectively. Like all other artifacts in the campaign, they will carry over to later scenarios.
One of Tarnum's heroes will carry over. Picking a good one and levelling them up will make later scenarios easier.
