Markal

The Invasion is the third scenario in The Necromancer campaign.

Walkthrough[]

After capturing Hikm, Markal needs to retrive the 3 other artifacts - Staff of the Netherworld, Cloak of Death's Shadow and Ring of the Unrepentant. All of them are kept inside the towns of Silver Cities.

Markal needs to get a boat and go to the north, where the Wizards reside. The most notable ones are Havez and Jhora, powerful Wizards who guard the towns. So, Markal needs to defeat both of them. Jhora resides on eastern, while Havez on western island. Afterwards, he plans on converting the Mages' towns and raise a legion of skeletons.

When Markal captures one of the towns and gets the artifact, the elves, led by Talanar arrive to help the Wizards. Isabel wants to convince them, but she fails, so needs to kill them. Talanar will arrive soon enough in a ship, so Isabel needs to be prepared for the task.

Afterwards, Markal can continue his task. He needs to get the other artifact as well. When he got the two artifacts, he needs to bypass the two garrisons to reach Al Safir, capital of Silver Cities. There Cyrus is with the Ring of Unrepentant. However, Cyrus fled to a portal, a realm of the Ring of the Unrepentant.

Markal knows Cyrus will expect him, so Markal needs to get some powerful force - 20 bone dragons should suffice. After he got the dragons, he needs to enter the portal, taking the ring and Cyrus' life.

  • Markal and Isabel arrive to Silver Cities.
  • Markal captures the Silver Cities' capitol, Al Safir.
  • Markal captures the Staff of the Netherworld and the Cloak of Death's Shadow.

Strategy[]

This is a large map, so creatures are in abundance. Markal should definitively have Expert Necromancy skill before, because he should seize the opportunity to raise the skeletons, as later in game, a huge army will face Markal. After Markal defeats that army, nothing will stop him afterwards. Do not neglect Isabel or Newpost, as Talanaar will arrive with a moderate army who can easily beat Isabel if she has a small force. It would be wise to capture the mines on the outlying islands, as the wizards can gain overwhelming resources due to all the mines in the territory. It is also advised to avoid taking one of the cities until Isabel has a decent army to fight Talanar.

Notes[]

When facing Talanar, the quick combat is disabled. Furthermore, the player's turns are time limited.

Bugs[]

There is a possibility that Markal will not be able to enter the portal. If Markal gets the 20 bone dragons but the quest does not update, he cannot continue. The only fix is to restart the scenario.
