The First Law is the second scenario in Revolt of the Beastmasters, the seventh part of Heroes Chronicles.
Tarnum must defeat Baron Paglon and all of his troops. All Heroes will be limited to level 14, but Tarnum and his two best Captains will transfer to the next scenario.OffBck
After Tarnum killled the brutal Lord Onsten, the Lords of Erathia grew more concerned about the slave uprising, and sent more troops after them. Mad King Gryphonheart even killed the messenger who brought him the news, and then burned down his own stables. Tarnum hid the women and children in a remote swamp before facing his next foe: Baron Paglon.
Two of Tarnum's guards started a fight on guard, and Tarnum had them locked up. The others were shocked - as slaves, they had no concept of crimes or laws, and didn't know the difference between jail and slavery. He asked one of the gnoll leaders, Brellick, to gather a few of the wisest members of the camp to write a set of laws, but it was clear that they had no idea what they were doing. The Witch Adamina arrived in camp, and told Tarnum that she and the other witches would do it instead, and Brellick happily handed it over.
Tarnum defeated Baron Paglon's forces in the area, but the Baron himself fled.
Walkthrough[]
Tarnum starts out with his two strongest heroes from the previous scenario, and a Fortress in the southeastern corner. The enemy has two Castles, one in the northeastern corner and one in the northwestern, and the heroes Edric and Adela. Near the center of the map is a neutral Fortress that will provide income, but can't build any dwellings.
The enemy starts out with few forces, so a quick strike can take out one of the towns. With a numerical advantage over his opponent, Tarnum can build up, improve his primary skills and build up his mage guild before taking out the second town.

Strategy[]
North of his Fortress, Tarnum can find the Greater Gnoll's Flail, guarded by gnolls. On the western edge of the map is the Buckler of the Gnoll King, also guarded by gnolls, and south of the northeastern Castle, he can find the Sandals of the Saint, guarded by monks. None of the artifacts carry over.
