"Vorr had imprisoned the other Ancestors somewhere on the desolate Fiery Moon, and as Tarnum set foot on the scorched soil he felt the Ancestors' pain. They were dying, and with them he would die too."
The Fiery Moon is the fourth scenario in The Fiery Moon, the sixth part of Heroes Chronicles.
Tarnum must defeat Xyron, the Jailer, to free the Ancestors from their magical prison. All Heroes are limited to level 24, and two of Tarnum's best Captains will carry over to the next map.OffBck
After passing through the Sparkling Bridge, Tarnum finds himself on the Fiery Moon. Skizzik, who turns out to have been born here, tells him that the Ancestors are probably being held by Xyron, the Jailer.
The Fiery Moon is a dead world, almost devoid of life, destroyed and turned into a volcanic wasteland by Demons some unknown time ago. Skizzik discovers an old burial site of its previous inhabitants. Seeing what Demons turn anything they take over into and knowing they're now going to do the same with his own world, Tarnum swears that he will never let them come through.
As the protection of the Ancestors no longer holds the years back, Tarnum suddenly starts to age. His joints ache, his hair turns gray, and he needs to be helped onto his horse. He considers killing himself, but Wern the shaman points out that without the Ancestors, no barbarian will ever reach Paradise ever again - and if Tarnum dies, so does any hope of saving them.
After defeating Xyron on the battlefield, Tarnum frees the Ancestors from their magical prison.
Walkthrough[]
Tarnum and his two best heroes from the previous scenario start out near the center of the map. By heading east, they can capture a neutral Stronghold, with a red keymaster's tent next to it.
The opponent has three heroes: Olema, Axsis, and Xyron. They also have three Infernos, but one of these is located underground, and can neither attack anyone or be attacked.
To reach his opponents, Tarnum must go through the one-way monolith in the southwestern corner, which will take him to the northwestern Inferno. From there, he can head east and capture the northeastern one. The black keymaster's tent will let Tarnum travel through the black border gate, giving him a shortcut between the second Inferno and his Stronghold.
The two-way monolith south of the northeastern Inferno will take Tarnum to Xyron, who is trapped behind a red border gate. When Tarnum has gathered a large army, he can go through and defeat him.
Towns[]
- One Stronghold
- Three Infernos
Strategy[]
The Seer's hut southwest of the Stronghold will give five knowledge for the Recanter's Cloak, which can be found south of the northwestern Inferno.
