"It is no surprise that the Immortal Hero came to live among the long-lived Elves and Dragons. He was still human after all, and humans need companionship. Soon, the Dragons would learn how seriously Tarnum took friendship."
The Dragontalker is the first scenario in Clash of the Dragons, the fourth part of Heroes Chronicles.
The good Dragons are missing, and the only person who might know their whereabouts is the Dragontalker. Tarnum must find her. Do not lose Tarnum. All Heroes will be limited to level six, but all of Tarnum's skills, spells and experience will transfer to the next scenario.OffBck
Tarnum has lived with the elves for twenty years, and is a good friend of the dragons that dwell there - they're as long-lived as him, and they know exactly who he is, but they don't hold his past crimes against him. When the dragons suddenly disappear, the Ancestors ask him to find them, but he would have investigated it even if they hadn't.
He sends his foster son Waerjak to live with his ex-girlfriend Adrienne, and then goes to the elf king Eldrich Parson to ask him to be given the mission of locating the dragons. The elf king tells him to find the Dragontalker, an ancient elf who lives with the dragons and may know what's happened.
Tarnum appoints the dwarf Kurbon to be his Master of Supplies, and the elderly druid Aspen makes himself Tarnum's advisor. Kurbon is careful with money and obsessed with details, and Aspen is a wise, but arrogant druid who can defeat even Tarnum at chess.
While they search for the Dragontalker, they learn that elven farms are being attacked in the night by forces that don't leave trails. Eventually, Tarnum comes across a group of troglodytes, who are digging through the earth to attack the farms from below.
Eventually, Tarnum locates the Dragontalker, who is being attacked by green dragons. She tells him that something is controlling the dragons - they were forced to fly away against their will.
Walkthrough[]
Tarnum starts out with a single Rampart. There are no enemy forces on the map, just neutral stacks, so he can take his time. The goal is to reach the Dragontalker in the northeastern part of the map.
First, Tarnum needs to go through the two-way monolith in the southeastern corner to find the red keymaster's tent. Going through the red border guard to the north, he should then head west. The quest guard will recquire 5000 gold and 15 crystal to open. After passing through, Tarnum will be attacked by a group of troglodytes, and he can pick up the Pendant of Total Recall.
With the Pendant, he can then head east and open the quest guard blocking the path. The road to the Dragontalker's hut is blocked by a small stack of green dragon which he'll need to defeat. Tarnum can then visit the hut to end the scenario.

Strategy[]
Next to the Pendant of Total Recall, there a few Unicorn Glades, allowing him to buy unicorns. There's also a one-way monolith entrance nearby, and the exit is near his Rampart.
