The Attack is the second scenario in The Necromancer campaign.

Walkthrough[]

Isabel tries to convince Godric to team up with Markal to get Lorekeep back, but Godric won't hear any of it. However, Isabel reminds him of the oath he made to Nicolai, so he is convinced, even if it is against his own judgement.

Both Godric and Markal start near Bayworth. The first objective is to capture Lorekeep. The town resides in north-east. To get there, they need to buy a ship first, although it is guarded by colossi. So, it will take time to get an army to defeat them. Before that, however, both heroes can defeat all creatures on the island to train before venturing out.

When they bought the ship and went out, the heroes will encounter 4 Wizards: Nathir, Razzak, Jhora and Faiz. All of them are powerful, but Markal and Godric can defeat them. It is possible one of them will arrive before Markal and Godric buy the ships, however. When they arrive to the north-eastern island, they will have to get north to get to Lorekeep. The town is guarded by master gremlins, iron golems and archmages.

Lorekeep was desecrated, so Markal needs to build the Citadel to restore the knowledge about raising Nicolai. It will take some time, so both Godric and Markal can focus to western part of the island (or even the map in general).

Finally, when Citadel has been built, titans that guarded the portal near Lorekeep flee, so Markal needs to go through the portal, defeating the djinni Wizard Nur and take the Amulet of Necromancy. Markal wants to keep it, but Queen Isabel gives it to Godric to guard it, instead.

Strategy[]

In the beginning, Godric should focus to deal with Haven creatures (as some may be convinced to join his army) while Markal could defeat the Academy creatures. This way a nice XP bonus will be added to both heroes.

Building the town structures is a must, since the Wizards can devastate Markal's and Godric's armies, using their spells at a rapid pace. This can be made easier if Godric bought a considerable army, and Markal got the Undead from the island to join him. However, be careful when using Markal, as he only has a limited number of troops, and while he can defeat one wizard (though how difficult depends on which wizard fight him), it will be very hard to survivie fighting two. This will result in Godric becoming the primary hero for fighting the wizards.

Nur will be inside Hikm, so Godric/Markal have enough time to get prepared. Her army is somewhat large, although the town structures will (probably) not be build due to the lack of resources, making it an easier target to be defeated.

Note that Godric will later become antagonistic, so when leveling him up, one must be cautious.
