The dripping of water and a strange, unidentifiable squeaking are the only noises that seem to come from the entrance to this cave.
--Description to the dungeon, given before entering.
Description[]
The Temple Of the Moon is a dungeon on Emerald Island. It can be accessed by entering atop the waterfall which drains into the pond just north of town. Follow the stream atop the hill, and it leads right into the Temple.
The Temple is abandoned. When you first enter, it is natural caverns and tunnels; follow the tunnel in, dispatching the bats you encounter along the way. Behind the pillar, on the back wall next to the tunnel that heads toward the left, there is a chest in the wall.
The tunnel to the right heads up to a cavern with rats, and some random treasure. At the end of the tunnel next to the chest, there's an intersection. Toward the left, in the cavern at the very end (And guarded by several spiders) is another chest in the back wall. It should also be noted that the chests appear as red flashing areas in the walls; perception does not seem to be needed to detect these.
If you instead turn right at the aforementioned intersection, the tunnel continues to another junction. Toward the right is a tunnel that leads to two caverns with rats, bats, and spiders. The last cavern has some random treasure.
Past here, the dungeon stops being natural tunnels and caverns, and instead turns into what more resembles a temple. In the sanctuary are several bats and rats. Dispatch those and head toward the altar. Be careful, a fire bolt shoots across the front of the altar in both directions every few seconds; there seems to be no way to turn this off!
To the right of the altar leads into a bedroom where Sal Sharktooth and one of his goons is. Behind the bedroom is several cabinets which contain random treasure, including a quest item for the Scavenger hunt. To the left of the altar leads to a library containing two more of Sal's goons. The bookcases contain several spell scrolls. In the back corner next to the way you entered is a secret door, which leads into another library, which has a couple of rats. The bookcases here contain more spell scrolls and a couple of spell books. On the floor is a tile needed for the scavenger hunt.
Enemies[]
- Giant rat → Lightning rat → Fire rat
- Giant bat → Vampire bat → Inferno bat
- Giant spider → Venomous spider → Widowmaker
Allies[]
NOTE: Sal Sharktooth and his goons at first appear friendly; if you do not speak to Sal, especially after retrieving the Wealthy Hat, then he and his goons will leave you alone. It should also be noted that the bats, rats, and spiders can cause disease or poisoning in their targets.
Treasure[]
Most of the random treasure found strewn around and in the chests are Level 1-3 armor, weapons, and magic items. However, it is possible to find up to four items needed for the Scavenger hunt here. Two items are preplaced, one can be obtained after a decent-sized fight (Though, it can be found easier elsewhere,) and one may be either randomly placed in one of the chests, or the components can be found here, making it possible to create it.
