Temptation is a scenario Heroes of Might and Magic V add-on, Hammers of Fate.

Walkthrough[]

Narxes gave Zehir a scroll, indicating that the source must be from Cyrus himself. Narxes doubts that Cyrus is alive, and even if he is, Narxes believes that there are other Wizards that can rule the Silver Cities. Zehir ignores him and must go to the site where Markal killed his father, using the Ring of the Unrepentant.

The trip is dangerous, as Zehir does not own a town. However, what he'll have to is to get the troops from the outposts and use his skills to defeat them. Zehir will have to go clockwise, using the portals (which are one way only) to pass through. There are 3 valleys, each one dangerous than the other. On his way, though, some Academy units will join him.

When Zehir arrives to the center, he needs to go through the underground passage. There he sees his father alive and well. However, Cyrus is ungrateful, so Zehir suspects it is not his own father. The man removes his illusion, appearing to be Markal, who lived inside the Ring of the Unrepentant. Zehir has no other choice but to defeat him. Markal is a dangerous opponent, having a lot of troops and is Level 30, with some powerful skills.

After Zehir kills Markal, he feels sad that he couldn't save his father and goes back to the Silver Cities to rule the land.

Strategy[]

This scenario needs a lot of patience and skill. Zehir will have to secure the outposts first, then the mines from where he can recruit the troops to fight for him. The issue of Markal is more important, but if Zehir has Expert Summoning Magic, he can learn the summon phoenix/arcane armor spells from the pyramids. Doing so will increase his chances of success.

Trivia[]

If Zehir defeats the phoenixes in the south-west and visits the Hut of the Magi, he can see something in the north-east. what player sees is a german messerschmitt bf 109 fighter plane. it is probably some kind of an easter egg.
