How are we sure the events in M&M occured before the silence? SirGodspeed 11:20, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

They occured after it, not before. MM6-8 and Heroes 1-3 take place in the 1100s AS, and Heroes IV and MM9 are obviously not long afterward (many old heroes and characters are still alive).
You could make a case for the first five games being in a completely different time, if it wasn't for MM7. Resurrectra, Kastore and crew all crash-land on Enroth from Terra, no older than they were in MM3, retroactively setting MM1-5 in the 1100s AS as well.
The Chronicles are another matter. Tarnum says he's about 1000 years old in Heroes IV, which takes place towards the start of the 1200s. So he was born ca 100-200 AS. The first Chronicles game is the earliest playable point in the timeline, so yes, all the games occur AS. --Dubiel 11:29, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
This is what I thought too, however the article stated otherwise. I think it suffers from having been copied directly off "the spinward tales". It's a good place for background info, but riddled with "fanon". SirGodspeed 13:54, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, it's also my website :) I am trying to avoid presenting fanon as canon here.
The lengthy Bard Tanni tale is actually from NWC. It could be better-presented in this article, though. --Dubiel 14:05, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, this is interesting... I was always wondering about that as well. It seems this is true - all MMs are AS, however, it's quite strange that it took the Kreegan around a thousand years to locate Enroth after their initial invasion... Guess their asteroids are slow, heh :D --GreatEmerald 21:19, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
