"Catherine Ironfist has enlisted aid from Bracada and AvLee. She knows we are close to Steadwick. We must occupy Steadwick before she arrives. Once we own Erathia's capitol, not even Catherine Ironfist will wrench it from our hands."
—Introduction
Steadwick's Fall is the final scenario of the campaign Dungeons and Devils in Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia..
Walkthrough[]
To win, you must capture the city of Steadwick within 3 months.OffBck
Both Eeofol and Nighon set up towns, intending to defeat Steadwick before Queen Catherine arrives. To make sure she does not foil the plans, the forces delay her arrival to capture Steadwick to three months. Until then the heroes need to seize Steadwick.
The heroes start with a Dungeon, an Inferno and a Castle (that has some options to construct buildings disabled). The heroes have a large patch of land, populated with many creatures, resources and mines. To the west lies two Castle towns, each quite defended. Far to the northeast is a Rampart town, while far in the southwest lies a Tower. In the corner of north-west lies another Haven town, also quite defended once reached.
After preparing the final forces, the heroes need to bypass the garrisons. All of them are anti-magic ones, guarded with quite many troops. However, the ones further from the starting towns contain less troops than the ones near. Once in, the heroes need to head to Steadwick, which is guarded by a lot of troops, led by General Kendal. After the attack, the kreegan demons and creatures of Nighon celebrate the victory, for Queen Catherine will not be able to reclaim the town.

Strategy[]
The map is quite large, compared to other maps played. To start, the heroes need to claim the mines and boost the production and construction. Once done, they need to capture the neighboring towns, making sure the enemy does not plan an attack, plus gold can be acquired for the troops later. After capturing the towns in the area, they need to gather forces for weeks until the week before the limit, when they can attack Steadwick and General Kendal.
There is another tactic, you need a fairly cheap and fast unit, such as an ifrit, and a strong mage with a strong damage spell, such as meteor shower. We accumulate an army for several weeks and break through the garrison leading to Steadwick, then the hero with one fast unit runs to Steadwick, Kendal will attack him if he is too close to the castle, first we have the first turn and we cast a powerful spell, trying to hit him as much as possible more enemy units, then we surrender (it is advisable to surrender and not run away). We do this until Kendal has few troops left, then attacks him with the main army. There is little point in capturing other cities, unless you can only have a stronghold on top and a castle below so that they generate income. With this tactic, there is no point in breaking through the garrison that is not protecting Steadwick.
