Spearwielders who master the difficult art of throwig their weapons - accurately - become Skirmishers, able to strike the enemy from a distance. They are thus doubly effective, having both a ranged attack while inhibiting the enemy's Initiative and Speed. Like the Spearwielders, they remain dangerous in melee and are not penalised for their ranged attack skills.OffBck
The skirmisher is the upgrade of the spearwielder, the second tier unit of the Fortress faction in the Hammers of Fate expansion to Heroes of Might and Magic V.
With the No Melee Penalty, the skirmisher will be able to handle melee combat far better than the spearwielder. In addition, it has twice as many shots (though still far too few to be an effective support unit - bring an ammo cart).
Abilities[]
- Shooter - This creature can inflict damage remotely. When distance to target is longer than half the arena, the target suffers only half the normal damage. Shooter cannot use ranged attack when blocked by enemy creature. If there's no Ammo Cart in the army, the number of shots is limited by available ammo.OffBck
- Crippling Wound - In a successful attack, this creature has an additional chance of decreasing the target's Speed (-50%) and Initiative (-30%).OffBck
- No Melee Penalty - Shooter has no penalty for damage inflicted during melee attack.OffBck
