Sign

Signs, also called Signposts, are adventure map objects in the Heroes of Might and Magic series that were first introduced in Heroes II. Heroes can interact with them to display a text message, either one written by the map maker or a randomized default message if nothing was set. They are purely cosmetic.

A water variant called the ocean bottle also exists in Heroes III and IV, which has a similar function but disappears after being interacted with.
