Runelore is the class-specific skill of the Runemage of the Fortress town in Heroes of Might and Magic V: Hammers of Fate.

Effects[]

Runelore allows the Runemage to place magical runes on their creatures. Unlike normal spells, runes do not cost mana, but resources instead.

  • Basic Runelore allows magical runes of the first and second circles to be placed on own creatures in combat, temporarily giving them new battle abilities and characteristics.
  • Advanced Runelore allows magical runes of the third and fourth circles to be placed on own creatures in combat, temporarily giving them new battle abilities and characteristics.
  • Expert Runelore allows magical runes of the fifth circle to be placed on own creatures in combat, temporarily giving them new battle abilities and characteristics.
  • Ultimate Runelore allows magical runes to be placed without wasting wood and ore.

Only the Runemage class can learn Runelore skill, at 10% probability.

H5AbsoluteProtection Absolute protection Normal attacks against hero's creatures are always unlucky. Lucky attacks are turned to normal. If enemy has Nature's Luck perk, effects of both perks are nullified. This is the ultimate Runelore skill; it does not unlock other abilities, but it requires abilities from other skills:

Bonuses[]

  • Inga is a specialist in Runelore, for she is able to learn a free rune when leveling up.
  • Rune of Flame artifact gives the Runemage a rune to deploy.
  • Tap rune ability grants the hero mana points in combat whenever a rune is deployed.
