"Heroes from the Confluxes tell us the elemental gods have sent them to us, so together, we might destroy Lucifer Kreegan and his quest to set the world on fire. Catherine trusts these new allies. I am not as giving. However, we do not have a choice as support for the war wanes and our forces dwindle. If these elemental heroes are to be our allies, they will prove themselves in this forthcoming battle... under my command."
—Roland

Roland and General Morgan Kendal have been sent to defeat some demonic troops across the lake to drive them off. Since Erathian support is faltering, the Elemental forces have joined as well. Roland and General Kendal will have to capture all demonic towns. Soon enough, Catherine sends Roland a letter Xeron managed to bring King Lucifer the Armageddon's Blade and fears they are sending a large force to defeat them. He also receives word from Gelu, who praises these Elemental forces to be of good use.
Roland and Kendal will have to watch out for the Inferno forces, for they may attack in the first week, with a large force. Fortunately, there are some dwellings and mines to speed up the recruitment of forces. There are two additional portals: one is south of Gellison, leading to a gold mine, while the other is south-west of Keventry, leading to a black market. As Roland combats these demons, he dreams of a nightmare, in which devils taunt and torment him in a horrible prison cell, in which he was a subject of suffering, as well as the ghost of Archibald mocking him. Despite having this dream, Roland wishes he can end it once and for all. However, he also remembers his son, Nicolai, who recently had his sixteenth birthday. Knowing this, Roland wishes the war to be over soon.
There are six Inferno towns that need to be captured, from which one is on an island at the center of the lake. To reach that town, called Chillwater, Roland and Kendal will either have to buy a boat at Shaynda or near Reaver Cove. Once the demons have been defeated, Roland prepares to join up with his wife and the Forest Guard.
Towns[]
- Castle x3: Faler-on-Sea, Keventry, Highcastle
- Conflux x2: Gelliston, Shaynda
- Inferno x6: Chillwater, Raven Cove, Sorrow Glen, Bane Bridge, Doom's Crest, Death's Gate
Strategy[]
Roland and Kendal start at level 11, with some skills. The enemy is quick and will likely reach the nearest town, Gellison, in a number of days. Kendal should go there to protect the town, while Roland can quickly collect resources and flag mines. The enemy will also collect a lot of forces and considering the limited resources to recruit creatures, Roland and Kendal should focus on gaining experience first. Roland may also travel by boat to reach Chillwater, then attack the other towns. Heroes are limited to level 24, though Roland is the only one that can advance to a later scenario. Due to a high level cap, Roland should gather as many artifacts as possible to leave them at the Altar of Sacrifice for bonus experience.
When going on the offensive, capturing Bane Bridge as soon as possible is perhaps the most critical initial objective, as that town is located right next to the enemy garrison in the northeast, and enemy heroes can use castle gates to attack you from there at a moment's notice.
