"With the help of the Pendant of Total Recall, Tarnum opened up his mind and revealed his darkest memories to King Targor. And Tarnum said, "I have spent centuries trying to redeem myself for these crimes. Don't follow my example!" So, King Targor fell to his knees, immediately realizing that he had been wrong. But it wasn't too late to correct his mistakes."

Rebirth is the fifth and last scenario in The World Tree, the fifth part of Heroes Chronicles.

Tarnum and his new Barbarian allies must now defeat the Necromancers to stop them from burning the World Tree.OffBck

After viewing Tarnum's memories, and discovering where his actions had taken him, King Targor realized the foolishness of trying to copy the Barbarian Tyrant. He left to tell Vorr that they wouldn't worship him anymore, but didn't return.

Vorr left the World Tree, but even without their leader, the necromancers still attempted to destroy it. Tarnum went forth and defeated them to save the Tree.

On his way to battle the necromancers, Tarnum found Targor's mutilated body. Tarnum buried the king and his men, and ordered his craftsmen to build a statue dedicated to Targor's bravery.

Walkthrough[]

Tarnum and his two strongest heroes from the previous scenario start out with three Strongholds. Their opponent has three Necropolises and the heroes Nimbus, Straker, and Nagash.

After building up his forces, Tarnum can head to the northern edge of the map and fight the ghost dragons for access to the subterranean gate. On the other side, there's a stack of ancient behemoths. He can then head south and east to find the three Necropolises. Once all enemy forces have been dealt with, the campaign is over.

Strategy[]

All pieces of the Statue of Legion can be found on the surface.

Leaving the Statue with a hero in one of the Strongholds will greatly increase creature growth.

"When Tarnum came across a tiny flower growing out of the cracked, scorched earth, he knew the World Tree would recover from the damage done by the Necromancers. But the insane Ancestor, Vorr, was still out there, no doubt as determined as ever to destroy the world."
