"But no matter what, Freyda, remember. The Empire is greater than any one person. Cleave your duty, to Elrath."
—Lord Godric Unicorn
Rebels is the first scenario in Freyda's Dilemma campaign in Hammers of Fate.
Walkthrough[]
After the events in Sheogh, Queen Isabel came with Godric back to Holy Griffin Empire, forming the Red Church. Still, some people whisper that she is not the same queen that returned from Sheogh...
Godric's daughter, Freyda, has practiced for long. Godric trusts her she will be an more than excellent commander, but is worried, since Isabel declared herself as a Saint, posted Laszlo as the captain of troops, Alaric as the Archbishop and more people oppose her. Freyda almost agrees, though Isabel arrives. Isabel places Freyda in charge of defeating the rebels and posting Godric as her adversary, despite his wishes. Godric cannot oppose her, so tells Freyda that she needs to do it for the Empire and cannot let a man stand between her and the Empire, and tells her to be safe.
Some days later, Freyda, Laszlo and Alaric encounter the rebels' leaders - Archbishop Randall and Lord Caldwell, Freyda's uncle. Alaric and Laszlo demand Andrei, King Nicolai's nephew. They refuse, as the land they stand on belongs to the Elves. They are furious, as Isabel declared herself as Saint, despite her shadowy past. They run away, so Laszlo and Freyda need to catch them.
On their way, they'll be ambushed by Elves. Alaric tells them the Elves captured the reinforcements, so they need to free them. More so, the peasants live in their lands, so the peasant huts need to be flagged. Furthermore, the units on the map will join the rebels... if Laszlo and Freyda do not attack them. Also, there is a seer in western part of the map, who wants the Elves and druid elders (who are south of his/her house) to be defeated and will grant the hero 3000 XP.
When they get the peasant huts flagged, two Rangers, Ylthin and Gilraen, will appear to defend the camps. So, the two heroes need to defeat them as well. After defeating Lord Caldwell, Freyda tells him she serves the Queen. Caldwell responds by asking whom does she serve. So, Freyda kills him for treason. Alaric congratulates Freyda, even if she slew her kin. Still, Andrei is not with them, as the rebels took him to Duncan, the Duke of the Stag Duchy. So, they head to the duchy's capital, Horncrest.
Events[]
- Queen Isabel has formed the Red Church.
- Queen Isabel promotes Alaric as the Archbishop and Laszlo as the captain.
- Freyda kills Lord Caldwell.
- Alaric, Laszlo and Freyda learn Andrei is in Stag Duchy.
Strategy[]
Since the troops will leave Laszlo and Freyda (either due to ambushes or leaving their command), it should be considered first to flag the dwellings, then take the troops from the dwellings to win.
