The pit lord is the upgrade to the pit fiend, the fifth-tier creature of the Inferno faction in Heroes of Might and Magic III. It can be recruited from the upgraded hell hole.
Pit fiends and pit lords attack with tormenting whip blows. Once per combat, pit lords are able to resurrect dead allied troops as demons in place of another action. The number raised cannot be higher than the number of pit lords performing the resurrection.OffBck
With only a one-point increase in speed, the pit lord is stat-wise almost identical to the pit fiend, but it has the ability to summon demons from dead allies (except undead ones), and the extra reinforcements can be very useful in combat. This ability cannot be used on a cursed ground battlefield.

- Nymus is a specialist in pit lords, and gives them +1 to Attack and Defense per hero level after fifth level. These creatures also get +1 to Speed.
