Pathfinding is a secondary skill in Heroes of Might and Magic IV. It increases the movement of the hero's army on land, and reduces terrain penalties on the adventure map.

Pathfinding is related to secondary skill Scouting.

Basic[]

Basic Pathfinding reduces all terrain movement penalties by 0.25 points for the hero and his army. It requires the hero to learn Basic Scouting.

SkillAdvancedPathfindingIV

Advanced Pathfinding reduces all terrain movement penalties by 0.5 points for the hero and his army. It requires the hero to learn Basic Scouting and Basic Pathfinding.

This skill allows the hero to learn:

Expert[]

SkillExpertPathfindingIV

Expert Pathfinding eliminates all terrain movement penalties for the hero and his army. It requires the hero to learn Advanced Scouting and Advanced Pathfinding.

This skill allows the hero to learn:

Master[]

SkillMasterPathfindingIV

Master Pathfinding eliminates all terrain movement penalties for the hero and his army, and increases the army's movement by 25%. It requires the hero to learn Advanced Scouting and Expert Pathfinding.

Grandmaster[]

SkillGrandmasterPathfindingIV

Grandmaster Pathfinding eliminates all terrain movement penalties for the hero and his army, and increases the army's movement by 50%. It requires the hero to learn Expert Scouting and Master Pathfinding.

This is the final level of Pathfinding skill, and does not unlock any additional skills. The hero can instead develop the Scouting skill, if needed.

  • legs artifact boots of speed equipped
  • legs artifact wayfaring boots artifact equipped Icon-H4X1
