The Paokais are known to the orcs as the blind judges, and it is to them that they dispatch cowards and traitors for judgement, to determine who is worthy of being spared and who should be condemned to death and oblivion. But merciful verdicts are rare, given that these judges rely on consuming the flesh of others for their own well-being.^OffBck

The paokai is an upgrade of the wyvern, the sixth-level creature of the Stronghold town in Heroes of Might and Magic V: Tribes of the East. The other upgrade is the foul wyvern.

The paokai lacks the foul wyvern's Venom, which means it does less damage to its target, and it doesn't Regenerate. However, Scavenger will let it heal itself by consuming corpses, and Lightning Breath will spread its damage to nearby foes, making it better suited for fighting a large number of weaker stacks. Its immunity to the Blind spell can also be useful against unicorns, but is otherwise situational.

Abilities

• Large Creature - This creature is bigger than others and occupies four squares on the field.
• Flyer - This creature can move on to any free tile on the battlefield during its turn, regardless of the obstacles in the way.
• Immune to Blind - This creature cannot be blinded.
• Scavenger - This creature can restore its health and even their numbers by devouring the enemy corpses lying on the battlefield within its movement range (activated ability).
• Lightning Breath - This creature deals damage on all enemies that stand near its target, the damage dealt by such an attack is shared equally between the targets.
