The Necromancer is one of the eight character classes in Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer.

"The Necromancer, a magician who has succumbed to the temptations of the dark arts, is the Dark magic specialist and a master of undead. Though Necromancers have no special abilities to speak of, and are limited in choice of weapons and armor, they alone wield the full power of Dark magic. Additionally they're the class best at casting the elemental magics of Earth, Water, Air and Fire. The Necromancer is the closest thing to the pure spell caster on the continent of Jadame."

Necromancers start with 20 hit points and 25 spell points, and gain 2 hit points and 3 spell points per level. They also start with 5 spirit resistance.

Lich[]

"In the promotional ritual that attunes a Necromancer more fully to the Dark arts, the character is transformed into a Lich - a powerful form of undead. In exchange for their natural bodies, Liches gain access to the highest level spells and magical abilities."

A necromancer can be promoted to a Lich. Liches can learn grandmaster Learning, Meditation, Alchemy, Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Dark Magic instead of master, and expert Regeneration, which unpromoted Necromancers can't learn at all.

Liches gain 3 hit points and 5 spell points per level.
