The Minotaur King is a minor character that appears in the An Enemy's Trust scenario of the The Price of Peace campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic IV.

Biography[]

When Emilia Nighthaven first fought against the forces of Gavin Magnus, she found a group of farmers being manhandled by a band of minotaurs. She charged in, and when the minotaurs were dead, the farmers thanked her for saving them. They explained that they had been slaves to the Minotaur King, and that anyone that attempted to escape from his clutches would be put to death. His lands were to the south, behind towers guarded by medusas. Emilia promised the farmers that she would defeat the Minotaur King and free their friends and family.

Emilia first sent a group of twenty halflings and dwarves to sneak into his lands and free the farmers, hoping to avoid a battle, but her team was captured and executed. Despairing for the needless loss of life, Emilia threw her crown at General Tharj's and told him to find someone else to be their queen. She rode away, but when she stopped to rest her horse, Solmyr arrived, intending to ease her mind. Her promised her that he would deal with the Minotaur King himself. "Your enemy, I may be, but I still respect decency, and that minotaur is far from it". Emilia felt inspired to protect those that couldn't protect themselves, and knew that her army was far closer to the Minotaur King's lands than Solmyr's forces, so she returned to camp to retrieve her crown and lead her soldiers against the Minotaur King.

Once the Minotaur King was defeated, his surviving forces fled, and Emilia freed his slaves.
