The Mind Magic spells in Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer.
Normal level[]

Telepathy: Caster reads the target's mind, finding out exactly how much gold and what items the target has. This spell does not gain in intensity, but rather the spell recovery rate decreases with each successive skill level progression. The recovery rate starts out at "slow."
Remove Fear: Removes the afraid condition from a character if the spell is cast in time. The greater the skill and rank in Mind magic, the longer the condition could have been present before the "point of no return" is reached. After that, the only way to remove the condition short of Divine Intervention is to visit a temple.
- Normal: Effective if the target has been afraid for less than 3 minutes per skill point.
- Expert: Effective if the target has been afraid for less than 1 hour per skill point.
- Master: Effective if the target has been afraid for less than 1 day per skill point.
- Grandmaster: Effective regardless of how long the target has been afraid.
Mind Resistance: Increases all characters' resistance to Mind magic by an amount equal to caster's skill in Mind and lasts 1 hour per skill point.
- Normal: 1 point of Mind resistance per skill point.
- Expert: 2 points of Mind resistance per skill point.
- Master: 3 points of Mind resistance per skill point.
- Grandmaster: 4 points of Mind resistance per skill point.
Mind Blast: Fires a bolt of mental force damaging to a single target's nervous system. Mind Blast does 3 points of damage plus 1-3 per skill point in Mind magic. This spell does not gain in intensity, but rather the spell recovery rate decreases with each successive skill level progression. The recovery rate starts out at "slow."
Expert level[]
Charm: Calms a single targeted creature and removes any hostile feelings it has towards the characters. If this creature takes any damage, it will immediately become hostile again.
- Expert: Lasts 5 minutes per skill point.
- Master: Lasts 10 minutes per skill point.
- Grandmaster: Lasts until the party leaves the map.
Cure Paralysis: Cures paralysis if the spell is cast in time. The greater the skill and rank in Mind magic the longer the character could have been paralyzed before the "point of no return" is reached. After that, the only way to remove the condition short of Divine Intervention is to visit a temple.
- Expert: Works if the target has been paralyzed for less than 1 hour per skill point.
- Master: Works if the target has been paralyzed for less than 1 day per skill point.
- Grandmaster: There is no time limit.
Berserk: Causes a single monster to go mad with battle lust, attacking the nearest living creature until the spell wears off.
- Expert: Lasts 5 minutes per skill point.
- Master: Lasts 10 minutes per skill point.
- Grandmaster: Lasts 1 hour per skill point.
Master level[]
Mass Fear: All creatures in the caster's sight fear the caster and flee. If a creature takes damage while under the influence of this spell, the spell will be broken. Mass Fear will not work on Undead creatures.
- Master: Lasts 3 minutes per skill point.
- Grandmaster: Lasts 5 minutes per skill point.
Cure Insanity: Cures insanity if the spell is cast in time. The greater the skill and rank in Mind magic the longer the character could have been insane before the "point of no return" is reached. After that, the only way to remove the condition short of Divine Intervention is to visit a temple.
- Master: Effective if the target has been insane for less than 1 day per skill point.
- Grandmaster: There is no time limit.
Psychic Shock: Similar to Mind Blast, Psychic Shock targets a single creature with mind damaging magic, only to a much greater effect. Psychic Shock does 12 points of damage plus 1-12 per skill point in Mind magic. This spell does not gain in intensity, but rather the spell recovery rate decreases with each successive skill level progression. The recovery rate starts out at "moderate."
Grandmaster level[]
Enslave: Takes control of the target's mind for 10 minutes per skill point in Mind magic. Enslaved creatures will fight monsters that are hostile to the caster for the duration of the spell, and will not fight with the caster even if attacked by the caster or his friends. This spell will not work on the Undead.
