The Mer-Queen is a character that appears in the A Pirate's Daughter campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic IV. She is the queen of the mermaids, and claims the Strait of the Lost as her domain.

Biography[]

When Tawni Balfour attempted to claim the Strait of the Lost in her efforts to rule all of the Gold Sea, her fleet was attacked by sea monsters, driven to attack by a group of mermaids. She managed to muster her forces and drive away the group, but one night, a crippled ship floated into Rumport, the deck covered in blood. The words "THE SEAS ARE MINE!" were scratched into the main mast, a declaration of war from someone calling themselves the Mer-Queen.

Tawni's pirates battled against the mermaids all over the Gold Sea, but in the end, Tawni managed to push the mermaids back and claim the Mer-Queen's palace. The Mer-Queen managed to slip away, and fled to a cove to the east to gather her armies. At the same time, her forces to the west were breeding sea monsters to crush Tawni's fleet.

By dividing her forces, Tawni managed to crush the secret hatchery of the sea monsters while at the same time killing the Mer-Queen and destroying her floating throne. The surviving mermaids fled to the bottom of the sea, and Tawni knew that her ownership of the Gold Sea was unchallenged.
