The menacing reaver is an upgraded tier 5 creature of the Hive faction. It is recruited from the Apex II. It is one of two upgrades for the reaver, along with the maniacal reaver.

Resilient beyond mortal limits and capable of obliterating everything with its many claws, this offshoot of a Reaver terrifies both Alvarians and Templars alike. It's high intelligence and relentless thirst for blood make it a truly daunting foe.OffBck

Tactics[]

Menacing reavers are more well-rounded than Maniacal reavers or their unupgraded counterparts, having a less volatile damage range, but receiving less benefit from any effects that would make them deal maximum damage. They're also harder to counter with low-tier creatures thanks to their Terror ability, which will force their enemies to only use high-tier creatures against them.

Unholy Resilience will make it so that if a hit will destroy the stack, no matter how much damage the attack does, the damage will be negated. This only works once per battle, though, and is only truly effective against high-damage attacks and single-hit spells like Armageddon or Guillotine. To reduce its effectiveness, try to whittle down the Menacing reavers with multiple hits and bring them as low as possible before triggering it.
