Marzeth is a death knight that appears in the Black Sheep scenario of the Hack and Slash campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Shadow of Death. Crag Hack must defeat him to retrieve the Blackshard of the Dead Knight for Sandro.
Biography[]
Marzeth was once a Knight of the Blade who received a cursed sword as an inheritance and has thus become a Death Knight. Nothing short of death will cure this affliction.OffBck
Marzeth was a member of the Knights of the Blade in Avauntnell, but when he inherited the Blackshard of the Dread Knight, it twisted his soul until he became a death knight. The other knights stayed at his side, not wanting to abandon their friend despite this curse. Marzeth stayed in an underground chamber, protected by the other members of his order.
When Sandro sent Crag Hack to fetch the sword, he told the barbarian that Marzeth had stolen the sword from the tomb of a great hero. Crag Hack cut his way through the Knights of the Blade, before killing Marzeth and taking the sword back to Sandro.
Gameplay[]
Marzeth is a 11th-level Death Knight. He starts with Necromancy and Artillery, while his other skills are randomly assigned.

He can be found underground, and is equipped with the Blackshard of the Dead Knight, the Breastplate of Petrified Wood, and the Shackles of War. He has an army of 70 dread knights and 70 crusaders. Crag Hack must defeat him to win the scenario.
