Magic spring in Heroes III

Magic spring in Heroes III

The Magic spring (has a different name in each game) is an adventure map structure in the Heroes of Might and Magic series. It fully replenishes and temporarily doubles the visiting hero's maximum spell points.

In Heroes II, the Artesian Spring gives the hero spell points equal to their Knowledge times 2. The bonus extends beyond the spell point limit. The spring can be visited only twice per week, with each of its two interactive tiles having the effect separately. The effect is identical in Heroes III, but it is renamed to Magic Spring.

In Heroes of Might and Magic IV, the object is renamed to Mana vortex and it shares its functionality with the Asylum structure of the same name. It can no longer be visited twice each week. Heroes IV also has a separate object called the Magic Spring, but it functions similarly to a magic well.

In Heroes of Might and Magic V, it is called the Spring of Eldritch Renewal and it cannot be visited twice per week.

In Might & Magic: Heroes VI, the object is called the Dragon Nexus, and it functions like the Heroes V version.

In Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, the object is called the Whispering Stones, and it only increases maximum mana by 50% instead of doubling it but can be visited by any number of heroes.
