|
This structure can upgrade any creature in the visiting hero's army, usually at a reduced price. |
| Hut of the Magi |
|
Visiting it will reveal the area around the Eye of the Magi. The eye cannot be interacted with, and its only use is to provide sight through the Hut. |
| Jail |
|
The jail holds a hero that will join the side of anyone who frees them. Rescuing a prisoner from a jail is sometimes one of the objectives of a scenario. |
| Lighthouse |
|
When a hero gains control of the lighthouse, the faction's heroes gain a bonus to water movement. |
| Keymaster's tent |
|
After a hero visits the tent, all of the player's heroes will be able to go through the border gates and border guards of the corresponding color. |

|
Going into a monolith will take the hero to another monolith. There are two kinds of monoliths: one-way and two-way. |

|
The obelisk reveals a piece of the puzzle map so the player can find the grail. They can appear in many different colors, but functionally they are all identical. |

| Quest guard |
|
This structure's purpose is to block access to parts of the map. It will give a quest to a visiting hero, and when the hero returns after completing the quest the quest guard disappears and allows passage. |
| Redwood Observatory |
|
This structure removes the fog of war in a big circle around itself when visited by a hero. |
| Sanctuary |
|
Entering the sanctuary, the hero will be protected from attacks by enemy heroes. |
| Seer's hut |
|
This structure gives a quest to a visiting hero, and gives a reward when the hero returns after completing the quest. |
| Shipyard |
|
A visiting hero can purchase ships here. The cost is 1000 gold and 10 wood per ship. |
| Sign |
|
A sign indicates a direction or contains a message for player. |
| Sirens |
|
They can be found at sea, and if anyone visits them, they will kill 30% of that hero's army, but give them experience based on the hit points of the creatures. |
| Stables |
|
Increases the hero's movement day for the rest of that week, allowing them to move further on the adventure map. |
| Subterranean gate |
|
Gate used to travel between the surface and the underground. |
| Tavern |
|
Taverns on the adventure map allow to recruit other heroes while away from their town. |
| Trading post |
|
The trading post acts as a marketplace. |
| Water cartographer |
|
Retired captain offers to reveal all of the water on the map for 1000 gold. |
| Whirlpool |
|
The whirlpool can be used to travel to another part of the map, but that will kill 50% of the creatures in the hero's lowest-tier stack. |

| Sea chest |
|
Usually contains gold, and sometimes artifacts. There is no battle, and it may only be visited once. |
| Shipwreck survivor |
|
The first hero to rescue the survivor, is granted a random artifact. There is no cost, no battle, and can only be visited once. |
| Skeleton |
|
When the hero approaches the skeleton, they have a chance of obtaining a minor artifact or nothing at all. |
| Treasure chest |
|
Treasure chest contains a varying amount of gold. When picked up by a hero, they can either keep the gold, or give it away for experience. |

|
When a hero approaches the wagon, they have a chance of obtaining a minor artifact, random resource or nothing at all. |
| Warrior's tomb |
|
When a hero approaches the tomb, they have a chance of obtaining a random artifact, but reduces the morale of troops by -3. It will also reduce morale on subsequent visits. |

|
The waterwheel provides a random amount of gold when visited by a hero. It can only be visited once per week. |

|
