Picking Queen Lamanda will cause the player to start all maps of the campaign with a Forest town and a Sorceress hero, and will make the Castle Lamanda scenario unavailable. The maps themselves are identical regardless of the commander chosen.
Like the other three commanders, Lamanda herself does not appears in the game, and only acts as an unseen protagonist or antagonist.
Some fans theorise that queen Lamanda is also Queen Ironfist, Morglin's wife, having developed a romance with her rival after her defeat. Lamanda is the only one of the four faction leaders to go unmentioned after the first Heroes game.
