Korbu is a character mentioned in Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer. He was reportedly the most powerful vampire ever.
Background[]
Korbu was considered by many to be the greatest and most powerful vampire of all time.
One hundred years before the Night of the Crystal, Korbu felt guilty about the vampiric need to feed on others, and began to seek forgiveness. He quarreled with the other vampire elders, and decided to construct a crypt where he could ponder his existence. Before he left, he made an "arrangement" with the Necromancers of Shadowspire - the vampires would protect them and aid them in their research, and in return, they could feed on the local population without opposition. Korbu perished in his crypt, preferring to turn to dust rather than take the life of another.
The vampire Lathean wished to seek the great vampire's counsel, so he asked the Hero of Jadame to find the Crypt of Korbu and retrieve Korbu's remains and sarcophagus.
Gameplay[]
Lathean offers the hero the Find the Sarcophagus of Korbu quest, which requires the party to enter the Crypt of Korbu and retrieve his remains and sarcophagus. In return, he will promote all Vampires to Nosferatu.
