Irresistible Magic is the the class-specific skill for the Warlocks of the Dungeon in Heroes of Might and Magic V.

Effects[]

Irresistible Magic allows spells to be cast on otherwise resistant creatures. Higher skill levels increases the percentage of damage done to such creatures.

  • Basic Irresistible Magic partially negates magic protection and allows hero to deal 20% of normal spell damage to otherwise resistant creatures.
  • Advanced Irresistible Magic significantly negates magic protection and allows hero to deal 40% of normal spell damage to otherwise resistant creatures.
  • Expert Irresistible Magic negates half of magic protection and allows hero to deal 50% of normal spell damage to otherwise resistant creatures.
  • Ultimate Irresistible Magic drastically negates magic protection and allows hero to deal 75% of normal spell damage to otherwise resistant creatures.

Skill rates[]

Only the Warlock class can learn Irresistible Magic skill, at 10% probability. Since patch 1.3, the probability is 15%.

Original / Hammers of Fate Tribes of the East
Elemental vision Allows Warlock to see the elements of his or her creatures so they can plan and blow up "Elemental Chains". Wizard's reward (Enlightenment) Rage of the Elements (Irresistible Magic) Elemental vision assigns enemy creatures elements, so that an opposing element through another unit or Destructive Magic spell (Air and Earth or Fire and Water) can deal it extra damage (with this damage can also be affected by Luck); once this damage has been applied, the unit's element is changed. This effect works only for the Warlock. A Warlock with "Runeforce" artifact set has the effect damage of elemental vision doubled. Altar of Elements building grants the hero to apply elemental attributes to their own troops to inflict additional elemental damage. Altar of Primal Elements building grants +10% damage to elemental damage.
Dark ritual Bestows the warlock the ability to use ALL of their movement points to regain all of their Mana. Twilight (Light Magic) Yrbeth and Thralsai/Ylaya are specialists in this ability, where they can regenerate mana over their mana cap, the amount depends on the hero level.

Empowered spells Allows the Warlock to cast spells that do 50% more damage (for example 200 damage then does 300 damage), but at double the mana cost. Retribution (Leadership) Exorcism (Summoning Magic) Sinitar is a specialist in this ability, where the empowered spells' mana cost is reduced, based on hero level.

Rage of the Elements Elemental chain effects inflict double damage. This is the ultimate Irresistible Magic skill; it does not unlock other abilities, but it requires abilities from other skills:
