Hoff was a member of Tawni Balfour's crew, and appears in the A Pirate's Daughter campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic IV. He was Arnoc the Hairless' first mate aboard the Ravager.
Biography[]
When Tawni gave Arnoc his own ship, Hoff became the man's first mate. During her journey to the Bay of Maids to gather wood, Tawni left Arnoc in charge of the ships and Pete Girly in charge of Rumport, hoping the two men's ambition would cancel out. One day, Arnoc received word that Tawni wanted him to return to port, but it turned out to be a trap set by Pete Girly.
Arnoc put up a good fight, but he was killed, and his head chopped off. Pete killed all of Arnoc's men, except Hoff. Instead, he gave the man Arnoc's head and instructed him to deliver it to Tawni. Hoff was also instructed to tell her that Pete Girly now ruled Rumport and its fleet, and would soon claim Yanathrae.
Hoff made the way to the Bay of Maids on foot. When he finally arrived, he delivered the head and told Tawni what had happened. When his tale was finished, he asked if he could have some food, but Tawni pulled out a hidden dagger and killed him, since she didn't think she could take the chance that he might be a spy for Pete Girly.
