Hexis is a demonologist from the Heroes of Might and Magic IV: The Gathering Storm, and the main opponent of the campaign from that expansion.
Biography[]
Once a benign sorcerer, Hexis has become as twisted as the lands around him. The magic he sought to bend to his will has twisted and perverted both the land and himself. He will stop at nothing to increase his own power, even at the expense of Nature itself.OffBck
Hexis was a powerful magician that attempted to use the power at the heart of the forces of nature to increase his own magical prowess. He was seemingly unaware that his rituals were twisting the balance of nature and corrupting himself, the creatures under his command, and the very nature around him.
As the natural order grew ever more twisted, five heroes set out from Devonshire to gather magical artifacts, so they could gain the strength to take Hexis down. They were Bohb the Archmage, Kozuss the Wizard, Agraynel the Bard, the Barbarian Dogwoggle, and Alita Eventide, the Dark Priest. Their individual quests successful, the heroes gathered to face Hexis and his minions in battle.
Hexis's armies were mostly composed of creatures tainted by his magical power, namely gargantuans, goblin knights, evil sorceresses, and dark champions. In addition, he had some other allies, primarily Necromancers and Druids.
The heroes were ultimately victorious, and Hexis was slain.
Gameplay[]
Hexis makes an appearance in Final Showdown, the last scenario of The Gathering Storm campaign. He is a level 40 Demonologist, with Grandmaster Nature Magic, Herbalism, Meditation, Death Magic, Occultism, Demonology, Combat, Magic Resistance, and Tactics, and Expert Offense, Defense, and Leadership. He has no artifacts, but many spells.

- The introduction refers to Hexis as a "mad wizard", his biography states he is a former sorcerer, and his in-game model is that of a necromancer.
- Hexis is most likely base on the word hex, which means an evil spell such as a curse.
- While there is an unused icon for him in the game files, his in-game icon is random.
