Heroes of Might and Magic TTRPG is an upcoming tabletop roleplaying game developed by Lans Macabre Publishing and published by Modiphius Entertainment using Ubisoft trademarks.
System[]
The game uses a modified version of Modiphius' internal 2d20 engine. The players take the roles of Heroes, who go on quests, collect artifacts and lead their armies in battles. Players choose nationality of their heroes, which further determines their possible lineage and class choices. They are grouped together as Alignments Order (Erathia, AvLee, Bracada), Chaos (Eeofol, Deyja, Nighon) and neutral (Krewlod and Tatalia). Lineages revealed are Elf, Goblin, Human and Ogre. Revealed classes are Barbarian, Battle Mage, Cleric, Knight and Ranger. (As of the Quickstart's release, it's not known what's the difference between Might heroes and Magic heroes, as all values are precalculated.)[1]
The players start off as commanders right from character creation, with an army already under their control. It is expected they will lead units already in the Heroes III base game. The character creation is a collaborative effort, with each characters' goals described and aligned before the game starts, so the players have a reason to work together even when they have different alignments.[2]
When a player attempts to make an action with uncertain outcome, the GM sets a difficulty level, then the player has to roll with 2d20 under the sum of the relevant trait and skill. During the Battle phase, the players gain Army Points dependent on their armies, which they can use to complete objectives on the battlefield.[3]
Setting[]
The setting of the core rulebook is Antagarich, Enroth.
The Quickstart includes the The Krewlod Frontier starter adventure, which is set in the border region named Avauntnell between Erathia and Krewlod.[4] The timeframe is not stated, but the domain is referred to belong to King Nicolas Gryphonheart[5], and Xenofex is referred as the leader of Eeofol[6] , which implies to be earlier than the events of Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia. The players have to capture an ore mine, defend Firscotch from a goblin warlord called Tyraxor, and optionally take the artifact Shield of the Yawning Dead.[7]
The base game will include a "timeline", which is the same as the Heroes of Might and Magic III: Restoration of Erathia base campaign, expanded and adapted to the game, in which the players can play as heroes from the Erathian perspective.[8]

Development[]
Ubisoft and Modiphius approached Lans Macabre Publishing to create a roleplaying game using Modiphius' 2d20 system. The system had to be adjusted to fantasy games. Additional subsystems had to be developed for magic and battles and an optional system for realm management.[9] The game was developed with only Heroes of Might and Magic III: Restoration of Erathia in mind, as the physical size of the book is limited, the developer however, left open the question as whether further expansions will be developed to adopt other games. The players will be able to play as all lineages that can be heroes in the base game, for a total of 14. The book will be released in English and Polish, with possibilities to translate to other languages.
The free Quickstart has been released on 18 April 2025. The game was funded on Kickstarter between 6 May 2025 and 8 June 2025. It achieved the base goal of 40,000 EUR, totalling 187,872 EUR, unlocking all of its stretch goals.[10] It is expected to release in May 2026.
Canonization[]
The game was revealed to be official. The world (Enroth) has description, but some characters don't. These are Adelaide, Edric, Gundula, Jenova and Loros. Tyraxor has a short description, as a Krewlod warlord, a barbarian goblin who is the leader of a group of wolf riders.
According to Zbigniew "Zed" Zych, they only received licence to Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia and its expansions, as such not allowed to use material appearing in any other series.[11]
