In the hands of those who know how to use it, the harpoon is a dangerous weapon. Once struck by a harpoon, the enemy risks falling out of line and being exposed to a savage blow from the dwarf's axe.OffBck
The harpooner is the alternate upgrade of the spearwielder, the second tier unit of the Fortress faction in the Tribes of the East expansion to Heroes of Might and Magic V.
On its own, the harpooner is not as dangerus as the skirmisher, as it lacks the Crippling Wound and No Melee Penalty abilities. The Armoured and Harpoon Strike abilities, however, will allow it to live longer, and drag enemy forces into range of its allies. Particularly good against ranged units and casters.
Abilities[]
- Shooter - This creature can inflict damage remotely. When distance to target is longer than half the arena, the target suffers only half the normal damage. Shooter cannot use ranged attack when blocked by enemy creature. If there's no Ammo Cart in the army, the number of shots is limited by available ammo.OffBck
- Armoured - This creature is resistant to all spells and effects that decrease Defense.OffBck
- Harpoon Strike - This creature can drag the target up one tile closer to it (activated ability).OffBck
