The gorgon is the fifth-level creature of the Fortress faction in Heroes of Might and Magic III. It can be recruited from the gorgon lair. The gorgon can be upgraded to the mighty gorgon.

Like the basilisk, the gorgon is a useful frontline fighter, but far more sturdy. Taking them out with ranged attacks or spells is usually the best option.

- Alkin is a specialist in gorgons, and gives them +1 to Attack and Defense per hero level after fifth level. These creatures also get +1 to Speed.
