- This article is about the creature from Heroes of Might and Magic IV. For other uses, see gold golem.
The gold golem is a second-level creature of the Academy in Heroes of Might and Magic IV.
With generous hit points, excellent spell resistance, and above-average damage, the gold golem makes a fine screening army. A slow adventure map movement and low combat speed keeps this army at home when the hero values swiftness over tanking ability.
In addition to their value as a screening unit, gold golem is more than able to take a proactive role against creatures that charge the rear line. While swifter than dwarves, they are not well-suited to charging across the battlefield. Do not be afraid, however, to let them meet the opponents halfway.
