Ghosts are restless spirits of the dead, forever bound to the Necromancer who has enslaved them. Their bodies are incorporeal, wich make them difficult to hit.OffBck

The ghost is the third-tier creature of the Necropolis in Heroes of Might and Magic V. It upgrades into the spectre. In the Tribes of the East expansion it may alternatively upgrade into the poltergeist.

Ghosts and their upgrades are weak for a third-tier creature, but their frailty and unimpressive damage is made up for with their Incorporeal ability, which lets them dodge incoming physical attacks. This includes the Fist of Wrath spell and nearly all creature attacks, but they cannot dodge more than twice consecutively. If one is facing ghosts or their upgrades, damage-dealing spells are a good way to eliminate them. Otherwise, the player should keep count of how many attacks a stack of ghosts has dodged; if they have dodged two previous attacks consecutively, the next one is guaranteed to hit them.

Abilities[]

  • Undead - This creature is not alive (like all other Necropolis creatures) and its morale is always neutral. It cannot be affected by Poison- , Blind- or Mind-related magic.OffBck
  • Incorporeal - This creature is incorporeal so any non-magical attack against it has only 50% chance of inflicting damage.OffBck
  • Flyer - This creature can move on to any free tile on the game field during its turn, regardless of the obstacles in the way.OffBck
