Duke Gerhart Wolf is a hero featured in Might & Magic: Heroes VI.
Biography[]
Paranoid and merciless to his detractors, observant and uncompromising to his supporters, Gerhart is a hard, pragmatic man who runs the House of Wolf with ruthless efficiency. Not that many would call themselves supporters. Parties with mutually-aligned interests might be a better label for those who dance with this stone cold duke.

Gerhart was the ruthless Duke of the Wolf Duchy. Having had a reputation of a tyrant from pretty much day one of his rule, Gerhart, albeit a nobleman, was shunned by all other dukes. Only the Emperor Liam Falcon admired Gerhart for keeping the Wolf Duchy under strict order.
It is unknown whether or not Gerhart has concocted the plan to kill Deirdre of the Stag Duchy, who was first to be betrothed to him, in order to persuade Liam to support him marrying Slava Giffin's daugher Irina instead. After all, the profitable location of the Griffin Duchy could have provided the Wolf Duchy with many benefits, and besides, rivalry between both duchies had been going on for decades.
However, for Irina, that marriage was a nightmare. On their first wedding night, Irina deeply scarred Gerhart, both figuratively and literally, and ended up locked in the dungeons of his castle. Gerhart knew that Irina was pregnant with his child before she herself found it out, and longed for a heir to the Wolf throne, even though at the time he had an ably fit nephew Markus. Irina fled her cell near the morning of the same night, helped by her half-brother Sandor Griffin, and vowed to return with an army to put Gerhart on his knees, then make him suffer. Gerhart knew that too and has prepared himself well for her comeback.
Gerhart died at the end of Irina's Sanctuary campaign, killed by her. His nephew Markus was spared, however, and fled the Duchy. Thus Irina became the Duchess of Wolf in 565 YSD.
