Geitlif Strongpick is a character mentioned in Might and Magic IX. He rose to be the Jarl of Thjorgard.
Thjorgard had paid a yearly tribute of 1,000 pounds of elemental thjorad to the Jarl of Thronheim ever since their defeat against Leip, but in 400 A.C., the people of Thjorgard decided it was enough. Their miners barely mined enough thjorad to pay the tribute, so Geitlif Strongpick led an army to depose the current Jarl and told Thronheim that the tribute would not be paid.
Thronheim sent an army to lay siege to Thjorgard, but Geitlif used the mountain tunnels to ambush the army using hit-and-run strategies. After a year of guerilla warfare, the Thronish army left. The fighting continued for 14 years, but in 418 A.C., the war stopped, most likely due to the pass between the two regions being closed off. Over the next century, the two clans became close allies.
