The Gates in the NES version of Might and Magic I

The Gates to Another World is a set of traveling gates that can be found on VARN-4. They appear in Might and Magic I and Might and Magic II, and were used by the VARN adventurers to travel from VARN-4 to CRON.

In order to use the gates, the party first had to find the Inner Sanctum and talk to the data keeper. Once they had defeated Sheltem, he announced that "this is a rare occasion, for only a privileged few are given the opportunity for transfer to another V.A.R.N." He told them to rest at the inn in Sorpigal, and then continue to their new assignment "at the Gates to Another World."
