Might and Magic Wiki
For other uses of the term, see garrison.

The garrison is an adventure map structure that was introduced in Heroes of Might and Magic III. It is a gate that blocks passage to anyone except the player and their allies, and the enemy must defeat the garrisoned creatures to pass.

In most games, combat at a garrison is no different than a standard battle. In Heroes of Might and Magic IV, combat inside of a garrison is identical to siege combat at a town with a citadel. Defending creatures begin inside of walls and are protected by a moat and a gate with 100 health.

Placing an army in the garrison can be a good way to block paths for the opponent.
